StephanieStephanie Sigman is a Mexican American actress. Her most famous role was Miss Bala (2011), a Mexican crime drama film. She was also seen in Pioneer (2013) and Spectre (2015). Sigman was a prominent character in Narcos (2015), S.W.A.T. (2017) and the second season of both shows. Sigman was born to the family of a Mexican mom and an American father, Lee Sigman, who is a New York Yankees scout. By virtue of her father, she's an U.S. citizen. [2][3][4] Her brother who is a the baseball player Kenneth Ray Sigman, was once engaged to actress Barbara Mori Sigman began her career on Mexican television before making her debut on film in Rio de Oro. In 2011 she played the lead role of Laura Guerrero in the Mexican crime drama film Miss Bala. [6] The film was picked as the Mexican entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Awards. However, it was not included on the final shortlist. In recognition of her film performance, Sigman was nominated in 2011 for the Dublin Film Critics Circle Award. [10][11] In 2011 she appeared in Catalina Aguado, the Canadian documentary film Flight of the Butterflies. In 2013, Sigman starred with Pioneer in an Norwegian thriller.
