
American actress Elizabeth Chase Olsen was born on February 16, 1989, in Sherman Oaks in California. Olsen was raised in Sherman Oaks and began acting at the age of four. After starring in Martha Marcy May Marlene's thriller, Olsen received praise and was nominated for the Critics Choice Film Award. The film was followed by Silent House. Olsen received a BAFTA Rising Star Award nomination and was awarded a degree from New York University two years after. Olsen received worldwide recognition for her performance as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe media franchise and was featured in the films of superheroes Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), and the miniseries WandaVision (2021).
